Stirling Range Retreat is an accredited ecotourism destination situated at the foot of Bluff Knoll, opposite Bluff Knoll Road, 90 kilometres North of Albany.
They offer accommodation choices to cater for all budgets ranging from onsite caravans to fully self contained 2 bedroom chalets plus caravan and camping sites with sunrise, sunset and mountain views. It is an easy drive along Chester Pass Road that follows an ancient river bed through the mountain ranges.
During Spring daily Orchid and Wildflower Tours visit well camouflaged orchids and wildflower hot spots in the area from mid August to late October. Enjoy the plentiful blooms of the region including species endemic to the Stirling Ranges. Tea, coffee and Anzac biscuits provided.
Daily Dawn and Dusk Bird Walks also run from mid-August to late October. More than 90 bird species have been observed there including the Owlet-nightjar and rare birds like the Crested Shrike-tit. Discover birds in stunning breeding plumage during nesting season. Binoculars are supplied.
Opportunistic sightings of native mammals and monitor lizards also occur.
